Union Jack Furniture
How was the Union Jack flag created?
The Union Jack flag originates back to the 1600s where there was demand for a new flag to represent the union between England and Scotland. By the 1800s, the Union Jack design that we are familiar with today was created to combine the red cross of St George for the Kingdom of England, the white saltire of St Andrew to represent Scotland, and the red saltire of St Patrick for Ireland, now for Northern Ireland. Fundamentally, the flag represents all the nations that makes up the United Kingdom and is recognisable across the globe!
