I came across this really interesting survey published on the BBC news education website. It doesn't always feel like it, but earning more money isn't necessarily the route to fulfilment and happiness at work.
Find a Job in Gardening and be Happy
As part of the findings 65% of those earning £20,000 to £25,000 a year thought that they'd achieved a good work-life balance as opposed to 50% of people who thought the same earning more than £60,000 a year.
Perhaps another surprise was that 75% of those earning less than £15,000 a year said they thought the work that they did was worthwhile. This is in comparison to 64% of those who earn £60,000 or more a year.
